Make Way For The Double Dipper!

Sources in the County confirm that the first step in setting up a former elected official with a double-dip job has been completed. A county employee with a long history of outstanding service has been forced into retirement. His position, which is under an elected county office, is controlled by the county freeholder board. It has been confirmed that he will retire at the end of this month “due to politics”.

After the employee is gone, the county office that oversees the position will be free to move in a former elected official now collecting a six-figure annual pension. In January, some expect the freeholder board to swap-out this position with a higher one, boosting the former elected official’s salary even further. There is opposition among some of the freeholders to this, but if the vote were held today, it would probably pass 3 to 2.
